News chatbot is a product of the intelligent development of journalism. In this paper, we review the research lineage of news chatbots in China, and find that scholars focus on the changes in news distribution, changes in the way of news solicitation, and the obscurity of algorithmic technology, so as to summarise the research results at both the micro and macro levels. Existing research needs to be expanded and deepened, and this paper argues that the key to future research lies in analysing the relationship between users' media literacy, the development of the social digital divide and the use of news chatbots, and paying attention to the changes in users' reading habits and the ethics of algorithmic technology.
